Personally I believe that the to of you simply need a good old fashioned chat. Communicate your feelings and expectations clearly and you should be able to come to an understanding as to what has to change so you can both be happy in the relationship.
This has nothing to do with BDSM or M/s to me, feelings of abandonment and lack of attention happen in all relationship types. Usually the indicate a failure to communicate properly either by one party or both of them.
